A968 catalyst is a TiO₂-Al₂O₃ additive-type sulfur recovery catalyst. Through a specialized impregnation preparation process, the active component TiO₂ is loaded onto an active alumina carrier. It features not only high Claus activity but also enhanced activity for the hydrolysis reaction of organic sulfur compounds COS and CS₂. A968 catalyst is suitable for use in any stage converter within sulfur recovery units and can also be loaded in the lower section of the first reactor for the hydrolysis reaction of organic sulfur compounds COS/CS₂.
A968 sulfur recovery catalyst can process various acid gases containing H₂S. Its operating temperature range is 200–350°C, with a space velocity of 600–1200 h⁻¹.
